♦ 7 nights accommodation, in double room sharing. (1 night at Sofia Hotel, 6 nights at country’s guest houses with families, living in the guest houses.)
♦ private transfers as per itinerary with a/c car with guide-driver throughout the itinerary.
The guide will drive.
♦ 7 breakfasts, 4 dinners, one picnic.
 

This is a joyful  vacation in Bulgaria, aimed at acquainting you with traditional Bulgarian hospitality, unspoiled countryside, delicious national cuisine and famous Bulgarian wines.

Itinerary: Sofia (1) – Koprivshtitza (2) – Kalofer (2) – Arbanassi (2)

D1 Arrive Sofia. Our guide-driver will meet you at Sofia Airport. Transfer and check-in at your hotel in central area (3-star category).

D2 Morning in Sofia: guided sightseeing tour of downtown area:  Alexander Nevski Memorial church;  the remains of Roman Ulpia Serdica Fortification /3rd – 5th century/; St. George’s Rotunda /4th century/; Sephardic Synagogue; Mosque, etc.  Afternoon: depart for Koprivshtitza, arrive, and settle in at a guest house. Meet with the hosts and enjoy a delicious home made dinner.

D3 Morning: guided sightseeing tour of Koprivshtitza. The delightful ethnographic village of Koprivshtitza is huddled in the mountain folds and is famous for its National Revival architecture (18th – 19th century). Free time to explore on your own.

D4 Depart for Kalofer. En route:  stop in Plovidv, Bulgaria’s second city for a walking sightseeing tour to visit the Roman stadium and the fabulous amphitheatre built in the 2nd century; and will walk in the Old Town to see some of its charming National Revival style houses of the 18th-19th century.Arrive Kalofer and settle in at a guest house. Meet with the hosts and enjoy a delicious home made dinner.

D5 The beautiful village Kalofer is situated at the footsteps of Central Balkan National Park, and is famous for its beautiful monastery and churches, and for its typical crafts making. In the morning we’ll take a hike along an eco path in Central Balkan, examining local flowers and herbs, and enjoy a picnic lunch in the mountains. Free time to explore on your own.

D6 Depart for Arbanassi village. En route: stop in the town of Kazanlak, situated in the famous Valley of Roses, which is the home of the exquisite and rare Bulgarian rose oil, also known as “attar of roses”, a well renowned world center for rose oil production and the source of many of the world’s finest perfumes. Kazanlak is also known as the Valley of Thracian Kings due to the numerous amazing archaeological excavations of the Thracian epoch. Continue drive through the Balkan mountain via the historical Shipka Pass. Arrive at Arbanassi village museum and settle in at a guest house. Meet with the hosts and enjoy a delicious home made dinner.

D7 Morning: guided sightseeing tour of Veliko Tarnovo, the capital city of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom (1185 – 1396). Stroll along the Old Samovodene Market Place, walking through its narrow cobblestone street leading into small, sunny squares with numerous crafts shops.There you will find a charming handicraft shops and get acquainted with some traditional local crafts like icon-painting, wood-carving, weaving, copper-smithing, silver-smithing, etc. You can even enjoy a cup of Turkish coffee made on hot sand the way it was prepared for the craftsmen and tradesmen 100 years ago. Afternoon: guided sightseeing tour in Arbanassi, famous for its traditional architecture. Free time to explore on your own. In the evening, enjoy a nice farewell dinner with your hosts.

D8 Depart Arbanassi village for Sofia Airport. End of program.
